District 6380 DGE Bala Murthy
Bala Murthy is the President and founder of i4 Now Solutions, an Information Technology and Professional Services firm. i4 Now Solutions was founded on 4 core principles – Imagine, Inspire, Innovate, Implement. Prior to i4, Bala worked at General Motors for 24+years, in various technical and managerial leadership positions. He started as a Senior Project Engineer in Tatas, India after completing his engineering degree.
A Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, Bala has been committed to Rotary for over 30+ years. He joined the Grand Blanc Rotary (D6330) in 1987 and became President of the club in 1997. Due to a work relocation to Detroit, Bala transferred to the Detroit Rotary Club (D6400) for 7 Years where he was active from 1999 - 2005. In 2015, Bala opened his own business dealing in US Federal Contracting where he moved part time to Washington DC. He joined the DC Rotary Club (D7620) where he was on the Board of Directors, International Services, Rotary Foundation and Embassy Relations & Sister-Cities Committee. He has been the past TRF Chairman and member on the Accounting Service Reengineering Team for the DC Rotary. In 2018 Bala joined the Rotary Club of Troy where he served on numerous committees and as Club president in 2002-21. In his presidential year Bala organized one of the largest Zoom speaker programs, hosting John Hewko in January and Holger Knaack in April. During the RI Virtual Convention (Taipei June 2021 ), Bala conducted Yoga & Meditation workshops. He has also conducted these workshops to the RI Board of Directors, International Conventions, District Conferences, at Rotary & Rotaract clubs globally. Bala has received numerous awards including 1993-94 “The Rotary Foundation District Service Award” in D6330 for his leadership in implementing “Low-Cost Housing Shelters” for the survivors of one of the worst earthquakes in W. India. Bala and his wife, Roma are Major Donors Level 3. They are also Level 5 TRF Bequest Society Members. |
