PDG Timothy A. Lee is married to Rotarian Amy and is a father to four children. Tim is passionate about Church, family, Rotary, and The Rotary Foundation. His hobbies include Lake Life, cruises, classic cars, board games, and visiting Rotary Clubs. He is a member of the Sturgis Rotary Club in Michigan (D6360) and holds the classification of Forensic Engineer.
 
In 2016, PDG Timothy Allen Lee was honored with ‘The Service Above Self Award’ by the Rotary International Board of Directors for his dedicated work in all five Avenues of Rotary service. Tim was just one of 139 recipients worldwide of the Service Above Self Award in 2016.   In 2018, Tim received the ‘Citation for Meritorious Service’ from the Trustees of TRF.
 
Tim has attended thirteen Rotary International Conventions: Bangkok, New Orleans, Lisbon, Sydney, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Atlanta, Toronto, Hamburg, Houston, Melbourn, Singapore, Calgary. Tim and Amy have been Deputy SAAs “Yellow Jackets” for seven RI Conventions, and six Rotary International Assemblies.  Tim was appointed Chief SAA for the 2024 International Assembly by RI President-Elect Stephanie Urchick, and was also appointed Chief SAA for the 2025 International Assembly by former RI President-Nominee Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo.  Tim’s SAA duties also included the 2025 Council-on-Legislation.  In June 2025, Tim and Amy were honored to be RI President Stephanie Urchick’s personal SAAs at the Calgary, Canada Convention.
 
Tim’s Rotary leadership experiences include being an Assistant Governor in three Districts (6580, 6560, and 6360).
  • Past President of the Noblesville Midday RC, 1998-1999, in Noblesville, Indiana (D6560).
  • In 2000, Tim attended a National Immunization Day (NID) in India.
  • PDG Tim has even risked his life for Rotary by participating in a sky-diving fundraiser and jumped out of a perfectly good airplane not once but twice, in 1999.
  • In August 2012 Tim participated in a NID in Karachi, Pakistan. 
  • Tim conducted a monitoring investigation in May 2012 for The Trustees of The Rotary Foundation as a member of the CADRE of Technical Advisers on assignment in Vermont for a flood recovery Global Grant.
  • In November 2013 he traveled to Malawi Africa delivering medicines and hospital supplies, dedicating new water wells, and administering Polio vaccines.
  • Tim conducted a monitoring investigation in January 2014 for The Trustees of The Rotary Foundation as a member of the CADRE of Technical Advisers on assignment in Saint Lucia for a water project Global Grant
  • In April 2015 Tim was honored to be President Gary Huang’s Representative to D5970 in Iowa, USA for their District Conference.
  • Tim conducted a monitoring investigation in June 2015 for The Trustees of The Rotary Foundation as a member of the CADRE of Technical Advisers on assignment in Colorado for a flood recovery Global Grant
  • In November 2015 both Tim and Amy participated in the Polio NID and World Polio Day Conference in Karachi, Pakistan, and while in Pakistan they participated in a Peace Project and distributed 100 soccer balls to underprivileged youth in cooperation with an Australian non-profit “Play It Forward”.
  • In February 2016, Tim and Amy represented D6580 as part of a Rotary Friendship Exchange (RFE) to D3052 in Rajasthan, India.
  • In June 2016 Tim presented D6580 as part of an RFE to D2430 in Turkey.
  • In June 2016 Tim was honored with the RI ‘Service above Self Award’.
  • In November 2016, participated in the Heart 2 Heart pilgrimage to Mexico City.
  • In June 2017, Tim and Amy were again honored to be President’s Representatives, this time for RIP John Germ, to D3271 in Karachi, Pakistan.
  • In May of 2018, Tim was honored to receive the Citation for Meritorious Service from the Trustees of TRF.
  • In November 2019, traveled to Malawi for additional service projects in Embangweni, Lilongwe, and Mzuzu.
  • 2021 Contributed to GG2118510, Karachi, Pakistan Dialysis Unit.
  • 2020-23, Tim represented D6560 on the Council-on-Legislation.
  • In March 2024, Contributed to GG2454318, Antalya, Turkey, School Solar System and earthquake relief.
  • In October 2024, traveled to Malawi for additional service projects in Embangweni, Lilongwe, and Mzuzu.
  • December 2024, International Sponsor, GG2458302, Uganda, District 9213, Job Skill and Mentorship.

While Tim was District Governor, District 6580 experienced the highest membership gains and increase in giving to The Rotary Foundation- Annual Fund of the 26 districts in Zones 30 and 31; the result was Tim shaving his head as promised to the D6580 members at the conclusion of a challenge.
 
A great personal joy has been participating in Youth Services- including Rotary Youth Exchange and RYLA.  Recently the Lee Family has enjoyed hosting:
  • Shoichiro Akutagawa, a RYE student from Sasebo, Japan,
  • Resqilla Zadena Subarkah, a RYE student from Jakarta, Indonesia,
  • Pongpon Sukbancha, a RYE from Bangkok, Thailand,
  • Linas Vidunas, a RYE from Lithuania.
  • Retona Sukahara from Japan through the FLAG Youth Exchange Program.
  • Haruka Yokoo, a RYE student from Japan
  • Ondrej Seibert, a RYE student from Czechia
 
Tim and Amy fanatically support The Rotary Foundation, are Legacy Society Members and Level IV Major Donors, and have named or assisted in the naming of approximately 100 Paul Harris Fellows.
 
Tim graduated from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He also graduated from Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana in 1996 with a Master of Business Administration degree.  His expertise as a Forensic Civil Engineer has been developed over his 30+ year career with engineering, utility, and construction companies. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in Indiana and surrounding States, has worked in approximately 30 States, and has authored over 3800 professional reports for the assessment of damages on properties. Tim has engineering consulting experience in various industries including residential, commercial, water utility, and manufacturing; and presently owns a consulting engineering business.
