DGE Lorna Gunning Fratschko

Picture
Rotary District 6330
Rotary Club of London South

Lorna joined the Rotary Club of London South on April 1, 1996 and now resides at the Rotary Club of London-Hyde Park.  She grew up with parents devoted to community service through church, providing foster care and supporting various service clubs in their small rural community which has inspired her on a life journey of giving back.  Fast forward to 1996 when a friend introduced her to Rotary which has provided the organization and tools by which Lorna now gives back.

The Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” is the mantra by which Lorna lives.  She is committed to the projects of her club and district which support local, national and international programs, all while establishing wonderful relationships with likeminded people.  And, as a lifelong learner, she appreciates the learning and training opportunities offered by Rotary.  Lorna shares this aspect of Rotary with members and prospective members often…don’t just think about what you can do for Rotary, consider what Rotary can do for you!

When Lorna begins her DG role on July 1, 2026, she will have been a Rotarian for 30 years.  Rotary is an integral part of her life which she lives according to the Four Way Test, applying this test to her personal and business relationships.  She believes that the Four Way Test is a valuable tool, ensuring that the Rotary philosophy of service and ethics is not only upheld but also modelled for Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike.

Lorna has participated in all aspects of the Rotary Five Avenues of Service over the years, has held many leadership positions and has worked on A LOT of fundraisers.  Currently, in addition to working towards her DG year, she is also the District Membership Chair for the great Rotary District 6330.  As District Membership Chair, Lorna understands that the IMPACT of Rotary begins at the Club Level, with each individual member.  Therefore, increasing membership will naturally increase Rotary’s IMPACT.

Lorna will challenge all Rotarians in District 6330 to invite one friend or colleague to a meeting at some point during her year with a goal of increasing District Membership by 10% during her DG year.

She considers the position of District Governor to be an honour and privilege… the next step in her Rotary Career and Lorna is looking forward to serving District 6330 in this capacity.  Please join Lorna’s LinkedIn community at  linkedin.com/in/lornagunningfratschko
