BHARAT JALAN
Bharat Jalan is a Business Strategy and Operations professional with over 14 years experience running large-scale business transformation programs at Fortune 100 companies.
As Sr. Director – Business Transformation, Bharat is currently leading a set of broad-based enterprise-wide strategic turnaround initiatives at AIG, which has revenues of over $50 billion with operations in 90+ countries. Prior to AIG, he was heading the Strategic Business Solutions group at Marsh (a division of Marsh & McLennan Companies). Bharat has also advised companies such as IBM, Pfizer, Home Depot, and Liberty Mutual on critical strategy and operational challenges relating to their core business as part of Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy and Ops group. Bharat spent a short stint at Audible’s (acquired by Amazon.com) Customer Insights group reporting to the CFO. He has served as past-President and Board Member of the Rotary Club of Metro NYC. At his club, he has been instrumental in securing several Global Grants relating to Economic Development and Water & Sanitation areas of focus. In 2017, he was appointed by RI President Ian Risely as one of the Representative to the United Nations for New York to strengthen the ties and shared vision between the two organizations. Bharat was granted US Permanent Residence in the “Extraordinary Ability” category for demonstrating “Excellence in the areas of Business Operations, Risk Management and Business Strategy”. In addition, he is an avid appreciator of the arts and a supporter of NY institutions such as the Young Collector Council (Guggenheim Museum), Central Park Conservancy, Open House New York, Poster House Museum (Founding Member) and the Municipal Arts Society. In his free time, he loves giving back to the community, road cycling, traveling to new destinations, mentoring young entrepreneurs and seed investing in early-stage startup companies. |
